Mr. Jigme Dorji, Project Director, FSAPP retires

Mr. Jigme Dorji, Project Director for the Food Security and Agriculture Productivity Project (FSAPP), will leave the civil service system under the “Early Retirement Scheme” in November of 2021. The Project Director handed over project responsibilities to Mr. Rinzin Wangchuk, the project’s Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, on October 14th, 2021, after formal approval by the MoAF’s Human Resource Committee.

Mr. Jigme began his professional life as the Bumthang’s Dzongkhag Agriculture Officer (DAO) on January 1, 2002. Following a five-year stint with the Bumthang Dzongkhag Administration, he moved on to the Dagana Dzongkhag for three years and then to the Sarpang Dzongkhag from February 2010 to January 2013. Since November 2013, Mr. Jigme served as a Trade Attaché with the Office of the Royal Bhutanese Consulate General in Kolkata for over three years.

The Project Director for DoA’s FSAPP since 2017, Mr. Jigme has commendably spearheaded and managed the project towards accomplishing the goal of increasing beneficiaries’ livelihood and food security in the project’s five Dzongkhags.

Mr. Jigme retires after 19 years and 10 months of service in the government.
